I am a lover of horticulture, gardening and the environment. At age 8, I sent away for a package of Zinnia seeds for 10 cents and I've been hooked ever since. After 25 years of being self-employed, I retired. That only lasted 4 years and I now work in a water conservation program: I buy grass from homeowners who are willing to convert to desert landscaping and lose that thirsty green stuff. I pursue what interests me and you can blame my sister for getting me into this blogging thing.

Quick Colorado Getaway

Ostensibly, I went to Colorado with my grandson who was going to Boy Scout camp south of Pueblo. I've never been to this area before and was very impressed with the natural beauty. The wildflowers were abundant and I stopped the car about every 10 feet to take a picture.

After delivering my grandson, I spent a couple of days with my cousin. I don't see her very often so it was a great get together. She took me to the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. Pikes Peak is visible behind the Garden and I have included a shot of that magnificent area. We went to High Tea at a tea room. That was a new and very pleasant experience. Who has time for tea in my busy life?

My cousin is leaving for a year to go to Prague to teach English for the Berlitz School there. We chatted up a storm. I will remember this visit for a long time. I don't know when we'll see each other again. Thank goodness for email. We had a ball trying on the funky hats and drinking our tea.

On Monday, I met some old friends to take a leisurely tour of the Denver Botanic Garden. I must say, it is one of the nicer gardens I have visited. Each area is designed to please the eye, the color schemes were very well done. I have been to other public gardens which seemed very disorganized. Not so with Denver, it was very well planned and immaculately clean. I highly reccommend it as a must see when you're visiting that part of the country.

You ladies look fabulous in your hats for tea time. I am so glad you had a good visit. Your pictures are amazing, too! For work I got to Colorado several years ago & it really is beautiful. I have always wanted to take another family trip out there, cause my husband loves the mountains.

Baby boy is now 5 weeks old & it seems I have lost track of time. Thank you for the beautiful gift you sent to me (I know this is not a proper thank you, but I have to say that your package & card really moved me & means a lot to me. It was the first "baby" gift I got that really made me cry. I had to stop mom from taking pics while I was crying).

Colorado is one of the states I like to visit. I have been to all of these places you described, but I never had time to stop for tea, hehehe

I like your new office building...it looks very nice.

Happy Birthdy to your two grandchildren.
